Charity Work

"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of others"

Charity Sleepout

Throughout my school days, I was a member of the KH Chapel Committee. We visited the Tiglin center in County Wicklow which is a Christian run operation that helps people with addiction. We spent a day speaking to volunteers and some of the patients. Following on from this we held a charity sleepout in Dublin City Centre to raise awareness and money for Tiglin. The No Bucks Cafe joined us on the night.

Stewarts Hospital

In Transition Year my school collected for a local charity, Stewart's Hospital. Two of my friends and I collected money for the charity at SuperValu Lucan. On completion, I was given the opportunity to visit Stewarts Hospital with a smaller group of students. We met with a group of people in the facility and began weekly visits for the semester. We played games, chatted and at the very end, we attended a concert with performances from the people we had gotten to know in Stewarts Hosptial over the course of the semester.
